Old Town Restaurant for Sale in Koh Lanta, Thailand
One of Koh Lanta’s most popular restaurant and bars is now for sale in Lanta Old Town. Established in 2005, this food and beverage business also has great potential as a small guesthouse and it is already established as the main meeting point in Lanta Old Town – a quaint, seafront fishing village that acts as the island’s top day-trip destination.
With a wide range of Western and Thai favorites, the eatery offers fresh roasted specialty coffee and a lovely selection of international wines and beers. The business is located in a 70-year old Chinese wooden shop house that once served as a legal Opium Den for locals.
The large two-level wooden shop house has two buildings and a large unfinished back deck area. The front building includes a street front restaurant area with bar and seating for 30 people. Over the bar are two completed guest bedrooms which are perfect as living quarters or as guesthouse rooms. The second building has a fully functioning kitchen and restaurant bathroom and an unfinished storage area (which could be another bedroom), an upstairs sea view bedroom and two bathrooms leading onto a back deck area. Half of the back deck area is currently being built to house a small seafront lounge/eating area on the sea.
The sale includes a 9-year lease signed in the new owner’s name with monthly rental fee starting at 14,000 THB per month. This rises to 16,000 THB per month for the second set of three years. The restaurant, bar and kitchen is full decorated and outfitted and the current staff is also available to the new owner.
The current owner operates three guest villas (not part of this sale) so guest staying in these units typically eat and drink at the restaurant. The new owner will also receive the benefits of the marketing and promotion of the villa rentals which brings customers to the restaurant and includes a website for the business. The current owner will also provide the new owner with consultation for the first year for introduction into the community and advice running the business.
The asking price is only 1 million THB for this Old Town restaurant. The new owner must also pay the first two years of the lease in advance (approximately 288,000 THB).
The East Coast
The East Coast of Koh Lanta could easliy be a whole world away rather than the 4-5KM from the Western beaches that it actually is. Predominately utilized for agriculture such as rubber tree plantations, it is an excellent opportunity to see real Thai Island life.
